If we dont get something out of the CAA soon, even just some words about looking at it again, it may be time to take a leaf out of the 'black lives matter' book and arrange to have a Heathrow bust...
interestingly i've 'had' two of these, not one, so i dont match the written criteria so i am ok to self declare. i'd love to read the spec for this project, to get an...
at least the beer tent is a cracking size

come on Dom,
get your plane on a trailer, and have a go at the next round at st Micks, in 3 weeks time, its good flying, and you dont need to be a sky god, believe me....

Comps finished now, and we are heading home. The last task was a fuel management task, planes weighed before and after to get the fuel burn. Mick won the endurance part of the task with a 4.3 l/hr...
Mick Broom and I are taking 2 dismantled dragonChasers to the franglias comp down near Marseilles, if we get some reasonable wifi we will try to post up some tales and results on the blog below

Hi
not sure if anybody is interested, but i've had a go at tidying up the water system on the polini. Its basically a copy of what Mick Broom did on his, it seems to work well, saves half a...
i'd suspect fuel pressure. how old is the fuel pump?

I fly SSDR, and i'm grateful for the work the BMAA put in to created and support it. I've no wish to split away, and i'm against anything or anybody that seems to undermine the BMAA in this area

Hi paul
with a little tongue in cheek.. i'm not a big fan of doing stuff that makes me feel like its better, at the cost of complexity risk, which was why I was wondering if someone had done it...

thanks guys for the info (some good stuff there) , i kinda understand the theory. i can see how a perfect aero shaped strut would be much better than a round tube, but how does...
Hello,
I see the ace cyclone wing comes with A frame and pylon fairings. Has anybody tired it with and without the fairings? Does it make any measurable difference to anything?
happy new year...
no solo needed, but you are as good as P1 during the GST, which for me involved a nav ex to bath and back. if i was doing it again i'd prepare by doing some dead reckoning nav flying beforehand. I...
i converted last year with derrek davidson down at bournmouth in a few days. the written exams are easy enough. flying a pa28 was straightforward, although it felt like flying a skip lorry, compared...
hello
Opened up the top end of my Polini a few weeks ago. Its got about 65hrs on it. I've not seen inside one so I took some pics for anybody that might be interested.
The gudgeon pin is in a...
Mick
i'd agree, 300-400 more rpm needed for me, rough v calm.
some of my figures:
mid hang point, 49-51 cruise
150 prop
75kg fat controller
calm
5600-5700rpm
asking for more trouble i'd say. how would you get it started if you need oil pressure to wake the electrics up, unless the starter is permenantly live :-(
I've got a 3 colour battery light on...
paul, its probably that the SMD that the soft start is connected to is on the way out. they dont work at starting voltage/speed but work fine once running and warm.
same problem problem i had...
Despite the bad news from friday, thanks to all those at enstone, bmaa and marshals that made the is event happen. It was excellent seeing some much SSDR mayhem in one place.

Thanks kev
I did look seriously at the ace cyclone, but in the end could not convince myself the polini had the power to carry the heavier trike at 55-60 mph. Have now got 40hrs on the polini , I...
