    What's in a name

    Hi and Welcome :-)

I think we can cope with 2 Kev Armstrongs :-) What's the collective noun for them?

    What rotten weather today!

Not a great day here at normally sunny Chatteris, only managed a few circuits in the afternoon having overdosed on Tea and Donuts in the morning but still great fun.

    Normal service should resume...

800 infringements a year and counting

Aside from the fact that many pilots fly very safely without radio, one big problem with a buffer zone extending out from a CTR is that even if it was only 2 miles wide it would cover a huge amount...

I'm not sure what's happen to the dates, I will dig out my old log book and check the years at some point :-) Strange things time happen to time in the Fens...

    AAIB August 2014 Bulletin

Very sad it seems they almost died on the turn to downwind. The saddest thing to me is that having made it round to base leg the pilot tried to continue the flight over a perfectly good stubble field...

    July General Aviation Report

I think this was a bit more than an error. Infringing the ATZ while being on the wrong frequency would be an error. Infringing the ATZ, landing and then crossing a runway used by airliners with no...

    Colibri awards - worthwhile?

I suspect the need to switch the engine off in flight to get anything more than a bronze Colibri puts a lot of pilots off.

    D-Motor

Steve I would never need to recoup the extra cost of the 912iS, that value would be sitting there in the aircraft. Leaving aside instructing I fly the average 50 hours a year as part of a group like...

    D-Motor

Rotax have had great success with a very economical high revving engine with a gearbox, why are the competitors not copying that? Are the direct drive engines doomed to be less economical?

    I...

  14. Runway Numbers Challenge Katie Denham - 25 so far

Hi Terry, What I have posted twice?

Richard, yes Deenethorpe would be an obvious one for the 04-22 and I have been there when the Cafe was open but haven't been back since it shut.

    Joan, yes I...

    Free Landing Vouchers :-)

I'm only counting ones I've got since I started the challenge at the beginning of 2012, otherwise I'd have a 22 and (I think) a 04 as well.
They will probably be using 28 at Leicester but I live in...

    Yet More 912 S/B's

Why is the fuel injected Rotax so much heavier?

    Cheap tie downs

:-( Really sorry about your aircraft Kevin.

For my last syndicate I got the claw tie downs which are excellent, but they do weight 3.9kg with the hammer. I'd prefer claw tie downs for planned...
