    Wanted - Flexwing trailer

I'm after a flexwing trailer to suit an Air Creation Kiss/GTE trike. It has a slightly wider track than P&M trikes but I can alter if necessary, just don't want to end up doing too much. I'm not too...

    SSDR change - its here!

Surely fitting a new wing on an old trike will not be allowed, the wing carries the reg and therefore the first permit date would depend on the wing? Be interesting to see how they clarify this...

    SSDR change - its here!

I did wonder about the 'build' date of mine since the trike was put together in 2003, however, it now has an iXess13 wing which is considerably newer. Having said all that I am now under the...

    SSDR change - its here!

Yes, I was happy as a lark, got a Kiss so 390kgs to play with, 203kgs empty weight so 187kgs for me (90kgs) 60litres of fuel (42.7kgs) = 54kgs spare! Big grin :-)

Until I learned of the date,...

    Icicle 2014 Long Marston

Suits me, I'm now in Vietnam, not back until June.

Is it still raining back there? Hot and sweaty here, terrible! Ha!

Any comments on the BMW R100 engine?

'They are used quite heavily in Europe and there is a company called Silent Technic or something like that that specialise in this engine and its conversions, a fairly humourless guy, but there we...

    BMW R1200

Does anyone have the actual real live measured weight of the R1200 rather than a 'its looks heavy' 'my mate said they are heavy' assumptions?

I'd be interested to see one hanging on the scales,...

    Hope to see you there.

  9. Build Yourself Exhaust Silencer, Minimum Welding

Standard bike has 2 lambda sensors, one in each pipe going aft by the footpegs. Standard exhaust also has a crossover tube at the lower front of the engine, I've read this increases power but most...
  10. Build Yourself Exhaust Silencer, Minimum Welding

The engine faces the same way as the in the bike, the exhaust outlets from the cylinder need to be tightened slightly from the original BMW radius, mainly the left side as its a bit close! I'm not so...
  11. Build Yourself Exhaust Silencer, Minimum Welding

Thanks Kev. I have been wondering about making a 'fat' box to sit in the space under the engine in line with your design. I have to join the two cylinder pipes under the engine as close to the...
  12. Build Yourself Exhaust Silencer, Minimum Welding

I've been following this with keen interest, some great info, pics and ideas, thanks. I've now done 3 different designs for my engine - although its a bigger unit at 1200cc the principals and info...

    Where to source stock metal

    Hi Tom,

Hope all's ok back there in the UK?

Austen Knapman in Paignton is a good place for stock metals, steel bar, angle and sheet, they cut as required and are pretty reasonable.

    I've also...

  15. Blimey! Can this be true? CAA consultation on deregulating all single seat microlights

This is good news. A strutted reflex wing from the US is 54Kg, replace the A frame with carbon composites. Take a 100hp engine similar to the one I'm playing with now and rebuild it using lightweight...

Skydemon newbie -Nexus 7 & France

I seem to be at odds with you all here!

    Kiss wanted!

Kiss trike wanted. Either a Clipper or GTE, 400 or 450, unfinished kit, crash damaged, no wing, no engine, anything considered for a little project I have been planning for a few years!

  19. Is two seat microlight flying on a path to self destruction...?

I see that maybe there could be a costing issue here but surely P&M wouldn't be paying top dollar for everything like the engine??? Using the maths if a GT costs 26K and 14K of that is the 912 that...
  20. Is two seat microlight flying on a path to self destruction...?

I think P&M missed a golden opportunity - or maybe they have something to come.......

They obviously believe there is a market for the 50k PulsR so have made it, it must have cost them to get...

    Kiss 450; Rigging.

Hi, I recently bought a Kiss 400 and have kept it de-rigged between flights. Lifting the wing up is a pain as you say, the front lifts up and the trike moves back. Last rigging all on my own I put a...

    What would you buy?

Ooops, sorry Paul, you asked why too.

The revo is a properly sorted out trike, its not the boring "fibreglass pod, fabric skirt, crap seat" rubbish thats been thrown at us since the Q! There's...

    What would you buy?

The Revo, with EFIS, strutted wing, heated seats and footwell and powered by the BMWR1200 engine, the new one with magnesium heads.

Or a Polaris FIB if I could fly it from the beach.
