I wonder what the trade actually want. Both Paul D and Paul from tlac have commented here and have both been exhibitors at previous shows and events. What formats would they like to see events have?...

A mid season Popham would be great wouldn't it? Must be a more central location though. The ssdr rally could double or triple it's attendance without a great deal more work. Maybe an appeal for some...

I wonder if the ssdr rally could be expanded to become a bmaa rally. A larger attendance from a greater cross section of the membership would hopefully tempt one or two more trade stands to come...

Would like to see it on the bmaa site just to be sure.
  7. Jennifer Anniston espouses SSDR philosophy

Must admit, I find the cyclone straightforward to rig especially with the dragon trike having a telescopic front strut to make life easier. Not as simple as the single surface Fox wing with its 12...
  8. Cobra paramotor engine also suitable for a soaring SSDR?

Based around the Honda monkey bike engines. Daytona 190s have a good reputation for reliability. We really could do with a 35-40hp twin that weighs 30kg max! That'd be a game changer.

    More members wanted !

Is this a bmaa issue or maybe a local flying club issue? In the paragliding world (I'm assuming that gliding is the same) most people fly within a club environment the club takes new pilots and...
  10. Changes to the Self Declaration Medical system - 25 August 2016

Sorry for thread drift Steve. Thought it was relevant to highlight the inconsistencies of caa policy.
  11. Changes to the Self Declaration Medical system - 25 August 2016

All this lunacy at the same time the caa has granted one pilot of a paramotor trike an exemption to fly without a licence due to an ankle injury. He can fly an ssdr trike with no licence and no...

    SSDR Rally - what's coming?

I missed having some of the talks/presentations by some of the manufacturers this year. Maybe 2015 there were too many as it seemed a bit hectic but a few would've been good.

    Washkosh 2016

Need to get yourself there for the June one next year Mick. It's a proper laid back, motorhome friendly flying rally.

Hi Dom. Good to see you. Sorry I couldn't hang around longer. Was getting a little of hassle from the eldest wanting to practice his ground handling skills. Not sure if you've seen this but I made...

    Memberships and Syndication issues

I was already with the bhpa for my (optional) third party insurance for the paramotor and it was like pennies from heaven when they started to cover microlights with no extra premium. All...

    SSDR Rally

Same here. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Had a few flights. Met some new people and caught up with a few familiar ones. Thanks to all involved in organising. Looking forward to next year!

    SSDR Rally

Laurie. I think Adrian is saying, don't be put off by a pessimistic forecast as the actual weather might not be that bad. I'm very conservative in my choice of flying weather so won't be coerced into...

    Memberships and Syndication issues

I'm ssdr and still a member mainly because I feel it's the right thing to do. If I sat down and thought about it I suppose I'm paying quite a lot for a magazine and not much else. I know I'm going to...

Colin. I clean forgot to post that prop. Should I bring it down?
  23. So here it is: calling ALL two strokers

I'm going with something two stroke. Not sure exactly what yet. May be the paramotor as it's a family outing for us this year.

    SSDR Rally - what's coming?

Looks interesting Paul. It looks like wind may be the biggest feature of the weekend. I'm bringing the dragon. Can't decide which wing (fox or cyclone) though. I may bring a second trike that I've...

Rev as SSDR in the UK?

The Rev does look attractive with its big chunky tyres and the likes. You won't find a company that gives better support than the boys at flylight though.
