    MF Foundation donations

A conclusion possibly is that anyone who can afford to fly after training didn't need bursary funding in the first place?

Are you now a BMAA member William?
  2. Propellerheads the real magnificent men...

My wife knows quite a few of the WFAeC people and having seen part of the TV programme she said that she could see why we were selective about who joined!

I liked the braces. Reminded me of the days of investment banking - minus the squillions in bonuses of course.

Pity we didn't get to hear the poetry though :-)
  4. Propellerheads the real magnificent men...

Pity that no modern fixed wing aircraft were featured.

Seems they went out of their way to advertise the quirky and unreliable aspects, reinforcing stereotype beliefs that microlights are...

A bit too much emphasis on the touchy-feely "mush" of family psychology, otherwise very enjoyable and a good insight into what we do.

Brilliant performance by AW. Very PS and very good.

    Red Kite Cafe Deenethorpe

I hear that the Red Kite Cafe has closed. Does anyone know the reason behind this? It's a great shame

Usually after the noses have wrinkled the person says "har far can you go in one of these (things)?". When you say "we have flown over the Alps to Italy a few times" their tone changes.

    People are...

I'm not sure about that Paul. You can visibly see noses wrinkle when the M word is used.
  10. Propellerheads the real magnificent men...

We possibly bring a lot of this on ourselves by continuing to refer to "microlights". This is a label which perhaps ought to have been abandoned years ago if we wanted to shake off the bad old images...

We are far too sensitive about this. Antony Woodward (please note that it's not Anthony) has made a real contribution to our activity and he is to be applauded for it.

At the end of the day...
  12. Certification of a new microlight type?

How on earth can these arrangements be policed?

    Airfield Cards

Could have been more expensive, there was a suggestion that he would charge the Pooley's rate for it (somewhere between 40 and 59 I believe).

    microlight insurance

Does that 650 include any passenger or third party or is it full hull only?

Edited to add: reason I ask is that my CSP full hull for GHMcB is 522 for 29,000. This doesn't include passenger or...

Johnny Deadstick, I don't think any restrictions will apply to those of us who are members of the flying club at Cromer.

I'll find out before I renew this year and will put a message on the WFAeC...

Can you please clarify whether there will be enough space ? There seems to be some doubt about this - someone apparently asked the people at Cromer and was told that the fields will be in crop and...
