    Mimi's (G-MYHM) new dress

We have just finished treating Mimi to a new screen, wing, aileron and rear enclosure skins.

What a flipping job fitting the aileron skins, when we first tried the velcro didn't even meet by 30mm. Lots of applied warmth, keeping the bungees tightened up to settle in the stitching and easing it up a millimeter a time with grippy gloves over a period of nearly 4 weeks we got there.

I must admit we very pleased with the result, she looked very smart as we taxiied her about yesterday.

Just the permit renewal and she'll be flying again, phew.

Blimey Ginge, reminds me of my trying to get my sky blue jeans on in the 60's

Yup, and the uncoated bracket at the inboard end was polished to a high shine, it was not a job I'd look forward to. Possible but slow, the wings were by contrast very easy and came out nicely.
Well worthwhile though, she looks a treat and if they last as long as the last set that were stored outside and uncovered for 14yrs it'll be great.

Strewth, you must have been careful what situations you found yourself in.

Just to the knees was the best idea otherwise you had to stand on them and tug one foot out at a time

Permit and check flight done yesterday, she looks and flys great, just the paperwork to hit the doormat and she ready to dance.
