    Skydrive dual egt gauge wiring

Any one know the correct wiring for a Skydrive dual egt gauge?

My gauge has number 1, 3, 4 and 5 pins - I think 1 and 3 are one gauge and 4 and 5 the other?

1 goes to white or black lead (front pot)?

3 goes to white or black lead (front pot)?

4 goes to white or black lead (rear pot)?

5 goes to white or black lead (rear pot)?

any help appreciated - cant find anything related to my pin configuration on internet???

..should add that I know 'trial and error' will sort this out but would like to wire it right 'first time' without having to pull out wiring to correct (not too much to ask)?

I will let you have a precise answer tomorrow.

It will detail which pins operate which needle too, which took effort to sort only last month.

    Many thanks Mike,

Wouldn't it be nice if the gauge came with a detailed diagram that referred to the pin positions of the gauge??

    Serendipity.

I bought one last week from Skydrive and it came with a really easy to follow diagram in the box.

We fitted it last Saturday and it is working just fine.

    Pins 1 & 5 are a pair and pins 3 & 4 are the other pair.

    Pin 1 = White
    PIN 5 = Black

    Pin 3 = White
    Pin 4 = Black

    Paul,

It's also sensible to know which needle reacts to which input pin numbers !

3 & 4 pins feed the Right hand side of the gauge. A bit arsy tarsy, but that means the rt. hand side scale pointed to by the needle end over it. (But which needle happens to pivot on the LHS !!)

Pins 1 & 5 do the left hand readings, etc. etc.

    White/Black as Lorraine says.

now you've really 'got me going' round in circles!!!

I didn't get a circuit diagram with my gauge but wired it up 1 and 3 as a pair and 4 and 5 as a pair (that's how my other Chaser is wired)

    My head now hurts!!!

Soon to run the engine and find out if the gauges actually work.

    Paul,

It shouldn't hurt as the worst is no reading or perhaps reversed readings insofar as the needles want to go down as temperatures rise.

Black is earth so might not matter anyway. (White sends the feeble thermo-couple current).
Lastly with only those four parallel pins & simple slide on connectors it is fairly easy to feel behind the panel (Mirror) and swap the input leads around.
