    You will need the Belgian permit which is easily obtained but renewable annually. Around EUR 90 I think. I have the contact details if you would like them.

    Never ask the locals about flying a foreign microlight in their country. It is like consulting the BMAA website or asking the average British pilot for information on what is required to fly a Belgian or French ulm in the UK. Even EMF's 'MLA flying in Europe' is a dog's breakfast.

    The only reliable info on the BMAA website is on flying to Ireland. The Fly to France and ELT in France info is obsolete and most of the links in MLA flying in Europe either don't work or are to out of date email addresses.

    The Belgians grant a permit to the aircraft, not the pilot, so don't expect them the "accept" the new medical declaration. Bear in mind that French ULM pilots carry no evidence of medical fitness at all.

    I believe that the old self certify medical was accepted by all(?) EU countries for microlights, but only some for Annex II GA.
    The new arrangement will have to be ratified by each country, and may not (more than likely) be as acceptable.
    I wonder if the BMAA (in particular), and the LAA are looking into this.
