    Interesting news...

The BMAA have a news page on the web site, but I find it easy to miss interesting stuff amongst the formal stuff.

Latest, announced a few days ago and again at the BMAA AGM yesterday is a new additional 8.33kHz channel available for microlights. The 129.830 channel (previously 129.825MHz frequency) was always only intended for air/ground communication at microlight fields. The announcement is that an adjacent channel (129.835) has been allocated to microlight air/air situational awareness communication.

There appears to be no further guidance about what constitutes 'situational awareness' communication, but I suspect discussing last night's football or the choice of pub for the evening meal might be frowned on.
