  • Mistral Parts

Hi Guys, all you Mistral owners out there few that we are. Does anyone have an idea where I can get some bushes for the outside spar to upper wing. Mine are decidedly worn on one side and in need of replacement. I will try and remove one to get accurate dimensions plus a photo this weekend but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas please let me know. There are places that will make them but we are talking MOQ of 100units and very costly. In the meantime I've contacted the tech office to see if they can help.
    any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Graham

Well no luck so far, I've found lots of bushes etc but none any way near the size I require. Any thoughts apart from having them made? Maybe I should do that. It looks like a top hat from the side 8mm ID hole through the middle, 1mm thick sleeve and the rim or flange is about 18mm diameter 2-3mm thick the sleeve section is about 12mm long, does that explain it well? I'll try and post a picture.

        Mistral Parts

Hi Ginge, I've exhausted all avenues and have now bitten the bullet and have ordered a specialist rubber bush manufacturer to make them. I've sent them an original one to copy & test and a nice man called Ron has said he will make a batch for me, most likely from a mould containing 20, so I'll have a few spares if anyone else finds themselves in the same position.

now on the search again for spares following an incident on take off. In need of a port side canopy and port upper wing or at least some ribs in order to repair mine. possibly port side elevator as well, and quite a few metres of Tedlar if there's any left out there.

Give me a shout if you know of any of the above.

            Hi Graham

I have been thinking about this. I see no reason why the ribs cannot be repaired using new wood. It would be much easier and simpler to do then Changing the ribs due to the way they are fitted in one piece.

Each rib is made up in a modular way anyway so repair in suite would be easier.

As for Tedlar, I Have no idea. Oratex is an option as we discussed.

I will sort out the repair paperwork for you ASAP.

            Regards
