Rear starboard exhaust tube broken........ Again

I have just had to replace the flexi section on my 912 Hawk I was just going to weld it but thought that it was too far gone so replaced it with T304 stainless flexi pipe
Replace duff flexi for 20 instead of 145 plus p+p

I have done that a few times on Eurostar exhausts. But it has a capture ring top and bottom which needs cutting off painstakingly to get at the captured bits of flexi and cut them right off. And then needs welding back on or new ones fabricating. Ends up a couple of hours work sometimes.

That's kind of ok if you have a TIG welder and expertise for welding stainless steel yourself, but if you get a welder to do it it can easily cost over 100 for the repair, and you are left with essentially on old pipe patched up which is not likely to last as long as a new one - so then the value judgement becomes more tricky!
