    9 Common UK TA

    The present variable UK TA is opaque and is widely misunderstood by VFR pilots. A common high TA should enable release of CAS at lower level.

    This has been lunacy in the UK for donkeys years. The sensible options would either be to settle on 6000 as a standard everywhere or go much higher 14000 (like the Japanese) or 18000 (like the Americans). I wouldn't suggest anything in the middle of these as that could cause problems with aircraft at the common holding levels.
