    They say that if it looks right it fly's right - that fin looks mighty slim in the photo?

    Also, if payload @ 160kg is correct, me and my fellow chip eaters will have to change to lettuce!

      To be approved in the UK it would need to have a MTOW of 450, which allows minus 12 kg of fuel!!!! Peter Kelsey will tell you how this is calculated. A non-starter at 450 kg MTOW I fear.

        I cannot personally see the Pioneer 400 ever being a UK Microlight as it would need to weigh a basic weight of 266kg and sadly it is shown as 290kg

        The PIONEER 400 would end up being: 290kg (empty weight) + 86kg (pilot) + 86kg (passenger) + 12kg (1hr fuel @MCP) = 474kg

        However as a VLA it works: 360kg (empty weight) +86kg (pilot) + 86kg (passenger) + 12kg (1hr fuel @MCP) = 544kg so the spare 206kg could be the 99kg that it would take to top off the fuel tanks, still leaving 107kg for rear pax/bags.

        So as a VLA it is a goer, I am wondering though on where the VLA gains 70kg over the ULM !!!

              its the same as the Hawk but with the fuz cut in half and a bit grafted in the middle (there words not mine!)

              realy was a nice bit of kit, i almost got my cheque book out!

              they say it will be about 100k for the kit.

                      Dyn Aero has a lot of experience at building the MCR4s, the P400 is new. I suspect all the pricing will get reviewed as the real launch dates approach. I have sat in the back of a 4s for a quick fly round and it is a very impressive bit of kit.

                        I paid a (fully refundable) deposit on a P400. No date for delivery and no price and Frank rarely replies when i ask him where we are with price and timescale. If I dont get any sense from him at the show I will be asking for my deposit back
